They say travelling with children is never easy. Well let me just say, that is the understatement of the century when you are travelling with four kids. In saying that they were particular good on the plane, at Seaworld, the Outback Spectacular & the beach. Other times…
Sure we had a good time (mostly) but there is something about being away from home that just seems to make things more difficult for me. You don’t have everything at hand like you do at home and I’m not about to pack the whole kit and kaboodle. The kids needed to be entertained constantly because they didn’t have their usual toys, they poked & teased one another in the rental car, they were tired and whiney of an afternoon and they seemed to be hungry ALL the time.
Now, I’m not usually one to complain about these things but I feel like I need another holiday to recover from my holiday! Does anyone else feel that way? I think maybe us mums need to make sure that we remember the family holiday is also our holiday. Perhaps I didn’t make that clear enough!
A big thank you to my dear friend Emma and her family for a memorable week away. I hope you came away with lots of good memories too.
Here’s a quick run down of what we got up to for my Weekly Stills Collection plus a little bit from our Easter Weekend. Happy Easter all. xo
1. Skywalk. The Skywalk was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Lucas felt queasy, Charli wanted to be carried after 500m and Evie was throwing a tanty. Ahhh, bliss.
2. Rainforest. Once the kids were fed we could start to breathe in the tranquility of the rainforest.
3. Swimming or should I say Sliding. We spent a lot of time in the resort pool & spa. Charli & the kids slid down the spiral slide numerous times. Even some of the big kids had a go. 😉
4. Shark Bay. We spent forever in here at Seaworld. Not because it kept us out of the blistering heat but you all stared in amazement at the colourful fish and fearsome looking sharks.
5. Mini-golf anyone?
6. Downtime. There wasn’t a lot of this. We were busy and when we weren’t we were in the pool, but this kept little Charlotte amused for quite some time (and her big sisters too!).
7. Easter. Easter egg hunt done & dusted. It’s time to pull up the nearest chair & consume bucket loads of chocolate. Let the sugar rush begin!
8. Photography. I didn’t take my new camera away. I was a little worried it would be damaged in one way or another on the plane, at the beach, in the pool or stolen or misplaced. It’s too new for any of those things! So I haven’t put it down all weekend! Here’s my big girl in the back paddock as the sun sets. Too shy to smile with her gaps. I did manage to catch a few shots with a toothless smile too.
Technical Issue: By the way, do you prefer the photos with the caption or footnotes below the entire set? I think I like to read as I go but I’m just wondering whether it takes away from the images? Thanks in advance for your insight & feedback. 🙂

  1. I like the captions. Because I view it on my phone I have to scroll back up to see what the comment is referring to. Small thing but this one was much easier. x

  2. Gorgeous pictures as always. I prefer the captions on the photos or I spend the whole time scrolling back up to remind myself which image went with which! I think after taking 4 kids ANYWHERE you deserve a million holidays – you are Super-Mum with a secret identity!

  3. I prefer to read captions under the photos – saves me scrolling back & forth…always look forward to my weekly peek into “a day in the life” of the Chicharro’s
